The US Army Veterinary Service is an integral
part of an Army Medical Department at war,
supporting a Nation at war, and strives to
provide the best veterinary capabilities
anywhere, anytime. The Veterinary Service is
composed of more than 700 veterinarians, 80
warrant officers, and 1800 enlisted Soldiers in
both the active duty and in the Army Reserves.
The Veterinary Service also employs more than
400 civilians in ever expanding numbers. The
US Army is the Department of Defense
Executive Agent for Veterinary Service and
provides animal care, food safety and defense,
and research and development. The Veterinary
Service focuses our support on the Soldiers,
Sailors, Airmen, and Marines, along with their
families.
